Due to her father's long career in the Army, Dr. Rivera was born and raised overseas until she moved to San Antonio at the age of 13.
Dr. Rivera's interest in veterinary medicine began in high school with her first job as a kennel technician here at Community Pet Health Center. After high school, Dr. Rivera went on to earn both an undergraduate and veterinary degree from Texas A&M University before returning home to Community Pet Health Center.
Throughout the years, Dr. Kyzar has encouraged her journey in becoming a veterinarian and continues to be a great mentor. Dr. Rivera has a passion for small mammals, improving her Spanish, and educating clients about all things pet related.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Rivera enjoys traveling, reading, and painting. She also shares her home and snacks with a spunky old cat named Amber and her young mixed-breed dog named Lyla.
